Visit the forest nearby the workshop and safely remove wood, then fashion household items like spoons, butterknives, bowls and more from recently harvested wood, as you learn about the strong bond between mountains and the people in the Hida region, and how it has shaped their life and work from the days of old.

Take in the crisp scent of freshly shaved unseasoned wood, and find enduring joy in creating a keepsake of your own making right in the heart of nature.

Green woodwork is a special form of woodworking that uses wet or unseasoned wood that has recently been felled or harvested.
Carve and shape wood using a variety of specialized hand tools (kezuri uma - shaving horse, zuku - pig iron, etc).
Enjoy the fragrance and texture of fresh wood. Enter a state of flow and calm as you work on an original item of your own creation.
This course also provides pickup and dropoff chartered car services, and the Premium Course includes bento lunch.

Precautions
Work gloves will be provided for rental at the facility.
Please wear comfortable work clothes (no shorts or skirts that expose a lot of skin) and comfortable shoes (no sandals).
This event will be held regardless of weather.
In the event of heavy rain or heavy snowfall, we will prepare materials in advance so we will not enter the forest and cut down trees ourselves.
